Author:

Nicholas Sparks is an American screenwriter and novelist, born on 31st December 1965 to Patrick Michael Sparks and Jill Emma Marie. He was the middle of three children. He was raised as a Catholic and he still follows the Catholic faith. He is very religious man; going to Church, Sunday school and confessions. His son is an altar boy. As a young kid he moved a lot as his father was continuing with his education. In 1974 his family finally settled in Fair Oaks in California where he graduated from Bella Vista High School as a valedictorian. For further studies he went to University of Notre Dame where he got a full track and field scholarship and graduated in 1988. He met the girl, who was later to become his wife, during the spring break of that year. They got married in 1989 and moved to Sacramento, California.

A Walk to Remember

Landon hang-out with his friends in an abandoned resort. They are waiting for someone to arrived because this guy wants to join in their company but before that, he needs to jump in the pool as a dare to him but unfortunately it was gone wrong, the guy's head was hit in the edge of the pool and he passed out. Everyone leaves the guy with a rush because there is a cop coming but Landon go back and help the guy because he's conscience can't take it.

Landon's parents we're both separated, his father was a Doctor and married again to another woman that is why Landon really hate his father for leaving them. His Mom is just a House Keeper.

One Sunday morning, Reverend Sullivan having his mass and Jamie was in the front singing a worship song with her co-choir. While Jamie's having her solo piece in the part of the song, she caught the attention of Landon but not only Landon but also her co-choir, and worshipers we're amazed by her golden voice.

(At the School)

Landon was called his attention into the School Principal's Office for not attending his regular classes. As a punishment, Landon was given three(3) task to accomplish the First one is, To be a janitorial staff after school, Second, To teach a remedial class for those who are slow learner students every Saturday in the foundation that their school founded. Lastly, Landon needs to participate in a Drama Club's Final Event.

Mrs. Carter: Good Morning Landon! wake up c'mon !

Landon: It's Saturday Morning!

Mrs.Carter: Yes, It is, It's Remedial Class!

(At the Foundation)

Landon: So, did you learn something?

Student: And I think this is bullshit!

Landon is having a hard time to teach the student in the foundation it seems that Landon is not yet ready to dedicate his whole self into teaching.

(At the Drama Club's Practice)

Instructress: This is your spring musical is a story of burning passions and
                         blazing presentation

                         written by our very own Elisse Homer with words and music by
                         Jamie Sullivan.

Landon - as Tommy

Landon keeps on practicing his lines and dialogues perfectly.

(At the School)

Landon asked Jamie to help him with his lessons but it's a big surprise for Jamie because it's Landon's first time to asked help to somebody. Jamie said Yes but she have one condition,

Jamie: Okay! One condition Landon Carter

Landon: What is It?

Jamie: You have to promise you won't fall in love with me.

Landon: (Laughs) That's not a problem.

Jamie: Okay! I'll see you this afternoon after school.

Landon: Okay!

Landon goes to Jamie's house that afternoon and Jamie's Dad seems don't want Landon to be with Jamie, "He's dangerous, He's careless, and a Worst kind of Boy" Reverend Sullivan said to Jamie while they were having their lunch. Suddenly, someone push the door bell and it's Landon.

Jamie: Come In!

Landon: Thank You!

Jamie: My script is on my room, just make yourself at home.

Landon: Oh! Yeah.

And they started practicing their lines and dialogues.

At that night after their practice, in Landon's way home he saw Jamie at the cemetery and Landon was so curious of what's Jamie doing there so he followed her and trying to make things clear out beyond of his curiosity.

Landon: Hey! where are you going?

Jamie: Come and see!

Jamie have her telescope with her. She will gonna watch the comets and stars in the universe that only telescope has the capability to see them closely and not our naked eye.

(At the School)

Jamie passed by to Landon's company and said,

Jamie: Hey Carter! so, see you this afternoon?

Landon: In your dreams!

In that afternoon, Landon goes to Jamie's house but Jamie did not entertain him due to his attitude problem earlier at school.

Landon: Jamie! open the door!

Jamie: Landon, look, I thought I saw something in you, something good, but I was very
              wrong.

At that night, when Landon is at home he opened his yearbook in junior high school and  he accidentally found Jamie's profile but after seeing it, he was a bit curious when he read on what is written in the ambition of Jamie, "To witness a Miracle."

The whole cast of the Drama Club were very busy about the presentation for their final event and finally, this night is the night for their final presentation and many students, parents, and faculty and staff watched the said event. Also, Landon's dad watched him portraying the character of Tommy and a moment of silence when Jamie sang the song as Alicia a mysterious club singer.

While Jamie is singing, Landon is starring at her intensely and you can see into the eyes of Landon that there's a glitters that shines and it signifies that he is starting to fall in love with Jamie. At the last part of the song, unexpectedly Landon kissed Jamie but those scene was not actually on the script and it was Landon's real emotion towards Jamie's alluring beauty at that moment.

The next day at the school canteen, Landon confessed his feelings to Jamie that he's starting to fall in love with her.

Landon: Jamie, I'm starting to falling in love with you maybe you inspire me.

Jamie: Hmmm... sounds like bull!

Landon: which part?

Jamie: All of it!

Landon: Well its not!

Jamie: Prove it!

At that night, while Jamie is in the balcony outside of their house, reading some books then suddenly Landon appear.

Jamie: You!

Landon: Me!

Landon give a present to Jamie and Jamie asked, "What is it?" "I got you something" Landon replied and Jamie say Thank You. After Landon gave his present, he left and said,

Landon: Well, I'll see at school.

Jamie: Okay!

At the school, Jamie was so intimidated because of the looks and devilish laughs of her classmates and school mates as she entered in the school canteen. It because of the edited picture of her face in a sexy butt girl, a virgin marry, in the flyers.

At that moment, Jamie felt so embarrass and she don't know what to do but to walked out. Good thing! Landon suddenly appear and he fight for Jamie.

Landon brought Jamie home, while they're still inside the car, Landon asked Jamie if they could have a dinner date but Jamie refused and said that she can't.

Landon asked permission to Jamie's father, Reverend Sullivan if Jamie could be with him for a dinner date, at first Reverend Sullivan said no but at the end, he finally say yes.

(Dinner Date)

Jamie and Landon dance and they walked in the bay after they eat.

Landon: Can I kiss you?

Jamie: .......

Landon: Now, would be the time to say something.

Jamie: "I TOLD YOU NOT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH ME".

So many days passed by and the cycles of their lives keeps on repeating.

One night, Landon brought Jamie's home and Landon kissed Jamie as a sign of saying goodbye but unfortunately, Reverend Sullivan saw it and said,

Reverend Sullivan: Jamie! say goodbye to Mr. Carter. Landon go home! The night is over.

Landon: (To Jamie) Goodnight! Goodnight Sir! (Reverend Sullivan)

Jamie: Goodnight!

Landon leave then,

Reverend Sullivan: Jamie, your behavior is sinful, your acting with that boy like you are...

Jamie: I'm not.

Reverend Sullivan: Jamie you are a child!

Jamie: Dad! C'mon! I'm not a child!

Reverend Sullivan: And stop acting childish!

Jamie: I love him.

Reverend Sullivan: Then, be fair to him Jamie before things get worst.

Then they go inside of their house.

One night,  when Landon and Jamie hang out Landon noticed that Jamie is seems so quite and not feeling well to have fun but Landon ignore it and asked Jamie instead about their college application.

Landon: Are you worried about your college application?

Jamie: No! I'm not applying to college.

Landon: Then, what you gonna do?

Jamie: I'm sick.

Landon: I'll take you home. You better...

Jamie: No! Landon! I'm sick I have Leukemia

Landon: No! you're 18, you're perfect...

Jamie: No! I found out 2 years ago, I've stop responding to treatments.

Landon: So, why you didn't tell me?

Jamie: The Doctor said I should go on and live life normally as best as I could. I didn't want

              anybody to be weird about me.

Landon: Including me?

Jamie: Especially you! You know, I was getting along with everything fine. I accepted it, and
              then you happened! I do not need a reason to be angry with God.

So many days passed by again, Landon and Jamie still enjoying their precious moments that they've been together until such morning, Jamie passed out and she was rush to the hospital. Landon took care of Jamie while she's having her fast recovery. Reverend Sullivan proved to himself that the love of Landon to his daughter Jamie was true and unfailing.

Jamie and Reverend Sullivan have their short conversation while Landon went home to take some rest. Reverend Sullivan recall the childhood memories of Jamie just to broke Jamie's seriousness and the Reverend also explained why he was so strict to her daughter Jamie.

Reverend Sullivan: Do you remember when you were about five or six and you said you
                                    hated gravity? And you wanted to jump off the roof and fly?

Jamie: I was so angry at you for making me come down.

Reverend Sullivan: Honey, if I kept you too close it's because I wanted to keep you longer.
                                    You know, when I lost your mother, I was afraid that my heart would
                                     never open again. Jamie, I couldn't look at you for days.

Few hours later, Landon arrived and Jamie woke up.

Landon: Hey! How are you?

Jamie: I'm okay, I have something for you, don't worry it's not a bible it was my mother's journal quotes by famous people. C'mon!

Landon: Okay! Let's check in.

               “Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or
                 conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful.
                 Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins, but delights in the truth. It is always
                 ready to excuse, to rust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.” 

Jamie: You know what I figured out today?

Landon: What?

Jamie:  Maybe God has a bigger plan for me than I had for myself. Like this journey never
               ends. Like you were sent to me because I'm sick. To help me through all this. You're
               my angel.

The next morning, Jamie was discharge to the hospital and finally she can go home now.

Jamie: (To Landon) Please, Thank your father for me.

Reverend Sullivan: Your father pay for a private home care.

After hearing those explanation, Landon was so touch by what his father did to his girlfriend Jamie. It was really a big help, more than what Landon asked for his father.

All this years, Landon hated his father so much because his father left them and marry again with another woman and they were just left nothing with his mother. At that night, Landon drives out his estranged father's house to say sorry for being rude and disrespectful son and to say thank you as well.

Landon: Thank you!

And they hugged each other tightly.

(Flash Back)

When Jamie was being confined in the hospital, while Landon is having his rest, he's building a big telescope for her so she can see the rare comets that's moving in the universe.

Landon:  Do you love me?

Jamie: [She Nods]

Landon: Will you do something for me, then?

Jamie: Anything.

Landon: Will you marry me?

Jamie just smile and kiss Landon as a sign of saying Yes.

Finally, it's Jamie and Landon's wedding day. Jamie walks down the aisle with the arm of her father Reverend Sullivan he's also the responsible for his daughter's wedding.

Reverend Sullivan:  “Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never

Landon's Voice Over: "Jamie and I had a perfect summer together with more love than most
                                          people known in a lifetime. And then she went with her unfailing
                                          faith".

Four years later, Landon return back to Jamie's home from the medical school and he visit his father in law, Reverend Sullivan. He returned the journal of Jamie's mother that was given to him by Jamie when they we're in the hospital.

Reverend Sullivan: Landon! Nice to see you. Good to be back. What's new Landon?

Landon: I got to medical school I'm...

Reverend Sullivan: Your mother told me that, I'm so proud of you, and Jamie would be
                                     proud of you too.

Landon: I'm sorry, she never got her miracle.

Reverend Sullivan: She did, and her miracle was you.

After Landon's conversation with Jamie's father, he went home and he goes to the backyard of their house where he can see the lovely hills covered by so many trees, the flowing river, and the near sunsets and this is the last statement that he uttered,

Landon: "Jamie saved my life. She taught me everything, about life, hope and the long
                   journey ahead. I'll always miss her".

               

                 "BUT OUR LOVE IS LIKE THE WIND, I CAN'T SEE IT, BUT I CAN FEEL IT".
